This is how the Kids In Need Foundation operates: through a national network of Resource Centers, teachers can get free supplies for their students who are in need. We do not donate supplies directly to other organizations or families. The supplies must be acquired through teachers who have shopping privileges at the Resource Centers. All supplies donated to us by manufacturers and retailers go immediately to the Resource Centers. We do not have a warehouse from which we can draw supplies, so we do not donate supplies directly to other organizations, schools, families, or individuals.

School Ready Supplies

To expand our service outside the cities currently served by the Kids In Need National Network, the Foundation designed the School Ready Supplies program.

To participate in the program, schools, organizations, or communities must find corporate sponsors. The School Ready Supplies program is perfect for community back-to-school rallies and school supply giveaway projects.

The program does not distribute supplies to students based on requests from individuals. The School Ready Supplies program is an organized, corporate sponsored program that distributes supplies because it is being financially sponsored by companies for specific schools or districts.

School Ready Supplies supply kits:

  • are backpacks or kits that can be printed or given a tag with a sponsor's logo or tag line

  • are delivered to specific designated locations
  • are easy to distribute school wide at assemblies or in classrooms

Kits are available in three configurations that are designed to meet the general needs of students in grades K-8. As an added bonus, the kit box also serves as a storage box for the students' supplies and work during the school year.

Note: Orders for kits must be prepaid. Kits are shipped freight collect.
