Formerly known as the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA), the rebranded Association of Creative Industries will work with KINF to inspire creativity in the classroom
MINNEAPOLIS – February 13, 2017 – The Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) announces today that it has been named Charity of Choice by the Association for Creative Industries (AFCI), formerly known as the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA), a non-profit trade association for the creative arts industry. The partnership will bring a new level of creative arts opportunities to the low-income students, classrooms and communities KINF serves across the country.
“Creativity is a critical element of the learning experience,” said Dave Smith, executive director of The Kids in Need Foundation. “And for the more than five million students we serve annually, bringing creativity and rich cultural experiences to the classroom can be life-changing. We are grateful to partner with the Association for Creative Industries to unlock the power of the arts for kids who would otherwise go without.”
Recently launching a new brand name and visual identity, AFCI has a long-standing history of supporting KINF’s mission to provide free school supplies nationally to students most in need. Since 2003, AFCI members have donated more than $1.8 million in supplies to directly benefit the students and teachers within KINF’s network.
