Have you ever wondered if the Internet Age has sealed the coffin on old-fashioned school supply drives, just like it did chalkboards, slide rules, cursive, and cakewalks? If so, the answer to your question is a resounding “no”!
For the first era in history, school supply drives are now possible on a truly massive, national level. On 7/13/2017, Zappos will launch a major national school supply drive on behalf of the Kids In Need Foundation, to raise everything from pens, pencils, and paper for children in need.
Today, over 16 million children live in poverty and have difficulty obtaining the most basic school supplies. Lacking the requisite classroom supplies can harm a child’s ability to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
While by some estimates the average teacher spends in excess of $500 on school supplies annually, the unmet need remains overwhelming. This is ultimately why school supply drives have graduated into the digital age and chalkboards, slide rules, cursive, and cakewalks have not.
During the Zappos campaign, called “Zappos for Good”, Zappos will provide its customers with a link to a FREE shipping label. Customers may print the label and ship new school supplies directly to the Kids In Need Foundation for distribution to children in need.
