Kids In Need Foundation launches Every Teacher, Every Day to Connect, Empower, and Inspire all teachers nationwide

Minneapolis, Minn. (Aug. 3, 2021)Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), a national nonprofit that believes every child in America deserves equal access to a quality education, is excited to announce the launch of Every Teacher, Every Day a platform with the intention to connect ALL teachers to a safe, supportive community where free resources are available for their classroom, their curriculum, and their personal development.

In its 26 years, KINF has always recognized that teachers face immense daily challenges as they strive to carry out the critical role of educating the next generation. Following the global pandemic and a year of shifting learning environments, KINF’s goal is to provide more support and resources for teachers and to ultimately ensure all students’ equitable access to education.

Every Teacher, Every Day will connect teachers with other teachers, classroom and personal development resources, content that drives moral support, humor, wellness, and relationship-building, and community partners that want to support them. Every Teacher, Every Day will empower teachers through supplies and resources, creating positive environments for the social and emotional well-being of students and educators. Through its positive platform and content, and connection with fellow teachers for celebration, collaboration, and community-building, Every Teacher, Every Day will inspire teachers nationwide.

As a bonus, teachers who register for the platform through Friday, Aug. 6 will be eligible to receive a new planner complements of Blue Sky, who is proud to support teachers as a launch partner. Each day during launch week, Every Teacher, Every Day will randomly select 250 registrants from its community to receive a free planner for the upcoming school year.

“We believe every child in America deserves equal opportunity and access to a quality education. For that to happen, we have to support our teachers, and that has always been in the fabric of our mission. We’re excited to elevate that support to a new level through Every Teacher, Every Day, a new, robust platform available to ALL teachers nationwide at zero cost,” said Corey Gordon, CEO of KINF. “While the focus of KINF will remain on schools with a student enrollment of 70 percent or higher participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Every Teacher, Every Day will be available to ALL teachers, regardless of their school’s NSLP percentage. We have learned a lot about the challenges facing our education system over the last year and a half, and one of the biggest takeaways is that teachers need–and deserve–far more support than they are getting today, collectively.”

One of the highlights of Every Teacher, Every Day is the searchable library with over 1,200 free resources. Data shows that teachers turn to the Internet to support their lesson plans and Every Teacher, Every Day is committed to providing a central location for teacher-curated resources.

A RAND Corporation Survey found that in states with Standards Adapted from the Common Core (SACC), 99% of elementary teachers and 97% of secondary educators reported using materials they developed and/or selected themselves. There were similar results in the survey of ELA teachers, with 99% of elementary and 98% of secondary educators reporting they did the same. Perhaps unsurprisingly, almost all teachers reported using Google. Beyond that, more than half of both elementary and secondary teachers also consulted TeachersPayTeachers, Pinterest, and their state department of education website.

Additionally, the study showed that teachers in schools with more than 75 percent of students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) were more likely to draw on online instructional materials, suggesting that teachers in those schools may not have as many in-school/district resources from which to draw.
