Brackets For Good

Help the Twin Cities Kids In Need Resource Center win a grant through some good-natured competitive giving. Congratulations on making it past the first round! Hurry, Round 2 ends Friday, March 16, at 8pm!

The Twin Cities Kids In Need Resource Center needs our help! They were selected as one of 60 lucky nonprofits in all of Minnesota to compete in the annual Brackets For Good competition. The first match up is underway and they need our support to make it into the next round!

What is BFG?

Brackets For Good (BFG) is an online fundraising tournament that helps nonprofits raise money for their great causes in a bracket style competition. It’s all in good fun and helps channel that competitive spirit into giving back and doing good. The Twin Cities Kids In Need Resource Center (TCKINRC) has the chance to win the grand prize of a $10,000 grant! But they can only do it with your help.

How does it work?

If you’ve ever watched the college basketball tournament in March, you’ll be familiar with how this works; it’s actually where the founders of BFG got their inspiration. Each of the nonprofits go head-to-head in a single elimination, bracket-style tournament. There are six rounds total. In order to advance to the next round, TCKINRC needs to earn more points than their competitor. Points reset each round, just like in a real tournament, so we need to donate each round to help them through!

How can I earn points?

According to their website, “Every $1 donated through https://bfg.org/ equals 1 point scored for the chosen charity. At the end of each round, the nonprofit with the most points in the individual match-up advances to the next round, the points are reset, and the fundraising continues until a champion is crowned.”

Want to earn EXTRA POINTS for free? Of course you do, they’re free!

For a limited time, you can earn the TCKINRC $5 aka 5 points just for creating an account on BFG.org and filling out your donor profile. They’re called Free Throws and you apply them to the TCKINRC during donation check out.

Once you complete your donor profile and click ‘SAVE’, $5 in Free Throws will be automatically added to your account. BUT supplies are limited. You must earn AND redeem your $5 in Free Throws before they run out. They made a great little video on how to do this.

The profile fields are optional, but you won’t earn the $5 for TCKINRC unless you fill them all out AND select “Yes, please share my name, email, and College/University with Lids to receive an exclusive Brackets For Good offer on the collegiate apparel I care about and to get my Lids High Five Free Throw.” Once your profile shows as being 100% complete, your Free Throws will appear in your account.
