Human Resources Business Partner - Kids in Need Foundation

The Kids In Need Foundation is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team.

Position Title: Human Resources Business Partner

Position Summary: This position serves as a strategic business partner to staff on human resource-related issues.  The incumbent is responsible for researching and implementing human resource programs and policies, including staffing compensation, employee engagement, and training and development programs.  This position will be 30 hours a week. 

Reports To: CEO

Responsibilities:

  • Will provide strategic HR counsel and coaching to staff in supporting the Foundation to achieve strategic objectives. Help employees work through conflict management and provide solutions
  • Partner on best practices with outsource PEO provider
  • Create and implement new HR policies as needed with guidance to staff.  Be the first point of contact for all employees on HR policies and processes
  • Partner with managers on all recruiting activities including job postings, determining hiring strategy and actively participate in the hiring process. Providing recommendations for offers and ensure the hiring process is smooth and represents the desired candidate experience.  Creates and maintains employee files in concert with the PEO.  Conducts new hire orientation
  • Assist CEO in driving projects within HR and within the Foundation ensuring timely deliverables
  • Lead the performance management life cycle activities and tracks performance review forms
  • Lead the annual year end performance calibration sessions and other performance touch point sessions
  • Partner with managers to research and implement solutions for talent development, including understanding and anticipating employee’s professional developmental needs
  • Assist the CEO with various research projects and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 7+ years of experience with hands-on Human Resources experience
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • Coaching approach to working with employees and managers at all levels of an organization
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local labor and employment laws and regulations
  • Experience with interpreting and providing guidance on HR policies
  • Ability to interact and influence all levels of the Foundation with confidence, building trust and rapport
  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance working independently with being a collaborative team member

Physical Demands:

  • Required to sit for long periods of time
  • Extensive use of computer, keyboard and mouse
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
