Kids In Need Foundation Expands National Network of Resource Centers

January 1, 2018 – Here at the Kids In Need Foundation we are excited to announce that we have added two teacher free stores as Junior Affiliates to our National Network of Resource Centers: The CORE Store in Plano, Texas, and Pencils & Paper in Rochester, New York. In addition, two of our current Junior Affiliates received Full Affiliate status: Supply Zone for Teachers in Cocoa Beach, Florida, and The Pencil Box in Tulsa, Oklahoma. These additions and changes bring our total number of affiliates to 41 Centers!

“These centers are making an impact in their communities,” said Dave Smith, executive director. “Their service models closely align with that originally designed by Kids In Need, and we are proud to be able to help them serve students most in need.”

Affiliates of the Kids In Need National Network serve schools in their local areas where high percentages of students are enrolled in the federal free and reduced lunch program. The facilities are set up the same as a retail store where any teacher would go to buy supplies for their students or classrooms.  The difference is that there is no charge for any of the school supplies or teaching aides taken from the shelves. As an Affiliate, Centers are eligible to receive school supplies donated to the Kids In Need Foundation by manufacturers and retailers for redistribution to high need students, teachers, and schools.
