Program & Initiative Sponsorships
For partners looking for a turnkey way to support under-resourced teachers and students, KINF has three foundational programs, and its Network, to support: Supply A Student, Supply A Teacher, RISE: Rural and Indigenous School Equity, and Second Responder®. Additionally, it hosts several initiatives, including Every Teacher, Every Day, and Kids Helping Kids.
The Supply A Student Program champions educational engagement and ownership by providing students with a new backpack filled with school supplies. Teachers report these supplies help improve student preparedness, confidence, and class participation. Individual donors and financial partners can choose to provide backpacks to students at all levels, including a single class or the entire school. It's more than just a backpack.
The Supply A Teacher Program lessens the necessity for teachers in underserved schools to personally finance or provide classroom resources. Each teacher supported through this program receives boxes filled with items necessary to fuel a full semester of learning. As part of the Supply A Teacher Program, donors and financial partners fund teachers and/or the schools at which they serve.
National Network of Resource Centers: Kids In Need Foundation's National Network of Resource Centers is comprised of mission-driven organizations throughout the U.S. From Seattle to Miami, our dedicated partners work with schools that have a high percentage of students participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and their hard-working educators to help meet the specific needs within their local communities.
The RISE Program supports learning resource needs for teachers and students in rural and Indigenous communities, as students in these areas face unique challenges to accessing equitable educational opportunities. Leveraging the organization's national logistics platform and distribution operations, mass product procurement, and education system connections, Kids in Need Foundation effectively serves these harder-to-reach areas.
Every Teacher, Every Day connects ALL teachers to a safe, supportive community where free resources are available for their classroom, curriculum, and personal development. In its ongoing mission to provide supplies to under-resourced students and teachers, Kids In Need Foundation created this digital space for teachers nationwide to access FREE resources and lesson plans, connect with one another, and engage in content that encourages and inspires them.
For the 30 million students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), new school supplies are often a luxury item that is outside of the family budget. As Kids In Need Foundation continues to provide the resources and supplies for teachers to teach and learners to learn, there is a new generation joining its efforts: Kids Helping Kids. Middle and high-school students can apply to be an ambassador for Kids Helping Kids. Each ambassador will promote his or her fundraiser in his or her community, learning valuable communications skills along the way. Ambassadors can raise support through funding and/or the collection of supplies to be provided to under-resourced students.
When the first responders' work is done, Kids In Need Foundation is there. The Second Responder® program provides school supplies and resources to teachers and students affected by natural disasters. The program delivers hope in a tangible way to support reopening classrooms as communities rebuild.
