Kids In Need Foundation has offered an annual grant program that provides successful applicants with two large boxes containing a predetermined assortment of essential items, including pencils, scissors, paper, and notebooks. The boxes contain roughly $500 of core supplies, enough to last an entire classroom for at least one semester.
The classrooms that receive these boxes are located in some of the most economically challenged communities in our county, where new school supplies are luxuries families often can’t afford.
Each year we’ve received more and more deserving applicants and so, to keep up with the need for classroom supplies, we’ve expanded and given it a new name and platform!
In 2018, we relaunched the Teacher Supply Box program as SupplyAClassroom.org, this time as its own website that now empowers donors to locate and directly support classrooms that are meaningful to them.
This new program is open to anyone who wants to help out, with whatever donation level they can afford. Each summer, teachers from across the country can submit a personal statement and share how the classroom supplies will impact their students. KINF shares this information on SupplyAClassroom.org. Donors can search for a specific teacher, a city or state, school district and find classrooms in a community in need of support. Donors can fund all or a portion of the school supplies, called Classroom Supply Boxes, or even fund multiple schools within a district.

When you give a Classroom Supply Box, you’re giving hope!
Does your classroom desperately need free school supplies? The SupplyAClassroom.org program focuses on our core mission of providing essential school supplies to the classrooms of children most in need. If you teach in a school where the rate of free and reduced lunch is 70% or higher, we may be able to help! Successful applicants will receive TWO large boxes containing a predetermined assortment of essential items, including pencils, scissors, paper, and notebooks.
The 2018 application window is now closed. Stay tuned for information for how to apply for the 2019/2020 school year.
