Teacher’s dying wish: Backpacks full of supplies instead of flowers at her funeral

Teacher, Tammy Waddell, from Forsyth, Georgia demonstrated her dedication for her students after her passing.  Her last wish was to have people bring backpacks filled with school supplies instead of flowers to her funeral.

A teacher’s love and dedication to her students never ends.

Teacher, Tammy Waddell, from Forsyth, Georgia demonstrated her dedication for her students after her passing.  Her last wish was to have people bring backpacks filled with school supplies instead of flowers to her funeral.

Her thoughtfulness in this request, shows the care she had for “her kids”. She wanted to make sure that her students would be taken care of even after she passed away. She knew the students would need the backpacks more than she needed flowers.

Loving to teach others is only one step of being a great teacher. It’s the constant love and support they give to their students that make them so spectacular.

After hearing about this story, we wanted to say thanks to all of the teachers out there. Thank you for your dedication to being a teacher, the love you share, and for making sure students have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
