Volunteer Policy
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Kids In Need Foundation. Below are details about the guidelines related to volunteering at Kids In Need Foundation facilities.
Safety Guidelines
Kids In Need Foundation policies and procedures are applicable to all volunteers. Volunteers will receive adequate training on all Safety procedures that must be followed and closed-toed and heeled shoes are required.
COVID-19
Kids In Need Foundation recognizes the scope of COVID-19 and we are closely monitoring developments to ensure that we're highly prepared. The safety of our staff, volunteers, and the communities we serve is our greatest priority.
Per CDC guidelines, our current organizational policy is that masks are not required indoors. However, anyone who has recently been exposed to COVID-19 must wear a mask while in our facility. If you have a positive test or have any symptoms, please stay at home. If you do test positive, do not return to your volunteer responsibilities until you procure a negative test. If any individual or group would prefer to wear a mask during their volunteer session, they are welcome to do so.
Volunteer age requirements
Due to KINF being a warehouse environment and the importance of safety procedures being followed, the minimum age to volunteer with KINF is 11 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied at all times by an adult. All volunteers under 18 must have waivers signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to volunteer experience.
Youth/School Groups
All youth participating in the volunteer session must meet the minimum age requirement (11 years old). For every five volunteers under the age of 16, there must be 1 adult chaperone over the age of 18.
