MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota. The Kids In Need Foundation (KINF) announces today it has received a $10,000 donation from Wines for Humanity (WFH), a socially-conscious business whose mission is to eliminate homelessness in America. The donation will provide 400 school backpacks filled with much-needed school supplies that will be distributed to six KINF Teacher Resource Centers and select public school districts throughout the U.S. The backpacks going to public school districts will benefit local homeless education programs where 70 percent or more of the kids are on a federal nutrition program.
Wines For Humanity (WFH) was founded ten years ago by Anton Steinhart as a means to combine his years of wine industry experience with his passion to help others by conducting in-home samplings of fine wines from around the world while raising money for local charities.
“Education is the key to preventing homelessness,” says Steinhart. “Every child should have access to essential school supplies. We are proud to support KINF and their efforts to supply kids in challenged communities with the basic tools to learn and succeed in school.”
WFH team members volunteered to fill a portion of the backpacks with school supplies before they were distributed to 400 students in the following KINF Resource Centers and public schools, where the donation will benefit local homeless education programs:
Teachers 4 Teachers – Phoenix, Ariz.
School Tools – Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
Teaching Tools for Hillsborough Schools –Tampa, Fla.
Teacher Resource Center Chicago – Chicago, Ill.
KidSmart – Tools for Learning – St. Louis, Mo.
Classroom Central – Charlotte, N.C.
Denver School District – Denver, Colo.
Flint School District – Flint, Mich.
Hudson School District – Hudson, Wis.
“We are very grateful for the generosity of Wines for Humanity,” said Dave Smith, executive director of The Kids In Need Foundation. “With the proper supplies, students learn more effectively in the classroom. This donation is giving students the confidence they need to thrive.”

About Wines for Humanity
Wines For Humanity is a socially-conscious business that was founded around the simple idea of offering private in-home wine sampling events to provide an evening of fun and education on how to better appreciate fine wine, while raising money for local charities. By doing so, and by creating the opportunity for guests to select bottles to add to their own personal collections, ample funds can be raised for local charities that help to prevent homelessness in America for families with children.
The WFH organization is currently operational in 14 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. WFH is always looking for outgoing and enthusiastic people who are philanthropically minded to join its growing team of Wine Advisors.
