Dear Supporter,
The excitement of back-to-school season may be behind us, but for many teachers and students, the need for supplies is still very real.
By January, classrooms often face what we call the “mid-year gap”—when the initial stock of supplies has been used up, but the need continues to grow.
The reality is tough:
- Nearly 3 out of 4 students run out of supplies by the end of the first semester.
- More than 9 out of 10 teachers start the second semester without the resources they need.
For students, this means showing up to class without the basic tools like pencils and notebooks. For teachers, it often means reaching into their own pockets to fill the gap.
This January, we’re committed to keeping the learning going—but we can’t do it without you. Together, we can ensure every student has the tools they need to learn and grow.

Corporate Spotlight
In collaboration with Pepsi, the Minnesota Vikings infused their signature team spirit into supporting our Teacher Resource Center.
Not only did they sponsor a week at the TRC, ensuring teachers had access to essential supplies, but they went above and beyond by surprising students and educators at Hennepin Schools with boxes filled with much-needed school supplies.
A special thank you also goes to PNC Bank, nVent, and ECMC for their generous sponsorship of a week at the TRC last quarter. Your support makes a lasting impact!
We are thrilled to share that Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers presented a generous donation of $375,612 to Kids In Need Foundation during their Freddy’s Family Reunion!
This incredible contribution was made possible by the generosity of Freddy’s guests who participated in their giveback campaign.
