Each summer, Kids In Need Foundation is proud to partner with Toyota through their Big Summer Giveback—an initiative that brings together Toyota dealerships across the country to support local students with the supplies they need to start the school year prepared and confident. Through in-class distribution events, dealership teams don’t just hand out backpacks—they step into classrooms, share encouragement, and become part of a student’s story. For one dealer in particular, the opportunity to play an integral role in a child’s educational journey meant everything.
Once backpacks arrive at schools, the impact moves from boxes and numbers to real moments in real classrooms. This is where the work you support becomes visible—in confidence, creativity, and the way students see themselves as learners.
For students, school is where they feel safe to imagine, to create, and to grow. As one student shared, “My favorite thing about school is I get to learn a lot.” Another added that confidence comes from connection, “I feel most confident when I’m around my friends and my teacher because I feel like I can express myself.” Another student explained it simply: “If you let your imagination run wild, you can do some pretty creative stuff.”
Together, backpacks build something bigger than supplies alone. They build confidence, creativity, and a belief in what’s possible. As one student simply put it, “Thank you for helping me with learning and growing.”
That sense of belonging matters. Students talked about bonding with classmates, feeling seen by principals and staff, and knowing their teachers truly care. “What I like most about my teacher is how she’s nice and she cares about me,” one student said. That encouragement carries through the entire school day, and grows with the knowledge that their teachers are there to celebrate their efforts with them, “Whenever I get a high score on my math test, they congratulate me.” Those moments remind students they are seen, valued, and capable.

Stories like this one remind us why partnerships like the Big Summer Give Back matter so deeply. When community leaders, corporate partners, and educators come together, the impact reaches far beyond a single day in the classroom. It creates moments of connection, inspiration, and hope that students carry with them long after the backpacks are unzipped. Thank you for being part of this journey—turning preparation today into opportunity, confidence, and readiness for students this summer and beyond.
Every day, teachers show up for their students with passion, creativity, and dedication—but too many of them are doing it without the supplies they need to create the learning environments their students deserve. No teacher should have to choose between giving their students the best education possible and paying out of pocket for basic classroom materials.
Your company can help change that at scale.
Through a partnership with Kids In Need Foundation, your organization can:
A single corporate commitment can fill thousands of backpacks, stock entire classrooms, and remind teachers they are not alone. When companies invest in educators, they strengthen communities, support future talent, and help ensure every child has the opportunity to learn with confidence.
Join us in creating equitable learning environments—one classroom, one community, and one employee activation at a time.
At Kids In Need Foundation (KINF), we believe every student deserves equal access to the resources needed for a quality education. We work to foster equitable learning spaces by providing essential supplies to under-resourced students and teachers nationwide, focusing on schools where 70% or more of students qualify for free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program.
